All because my five–year–old twin daughters had upset my Alpha mate’s first love, he sent the girls to The Obedience Den–the most brutal correctional camp in the entire pack.

Something inside me shattered.
A scream tore from my throat as I lunged at them, claws unsheathed, my grief a wildfire.
“You monsters! You heartless beasts! They were five years old! How could you?! HOW DARE YOU?!”
The detectives immediately restrained me, and Sierra wrapped her arms around my shaking body.
“Lena, please you have to stay strong. You’ll get justice for what you’ve been through. I swear, they will pay for what they’ve done!” The instructors, cowering in the corner, had the nerve to sneer.
“Maybe if you’d raised them better, this wouldn’t have happened.”

My hands trembled with rage. I wanted to rip them apart–to make them suffer the way my daughters had.
Then, a metallic tang flooded my mouth.
I coughed violently–blood splattering onto the floor–before darkness swallowed me whole.
When I woke, I was back in the packhouse. Sierra sat at my bedside, her eyes red–rimmed.
“Lena… you’re awake. Don’t worry–we’ve taken care of everything with the detectives. Those bastards won’t escape justice.”
I stared blankly at the ceiling, my soul hollowed out.
