Chapter 4
I forced down the curve at the corner of my lips.
“you’re still smiling?”
My faint smile made Bella even angrier.
She grabbed my collar and slapped me again.
“I just cursed your dad, and you’re still smiling? Were you born this disgusting?”
Suddenly, her gaze fell on something peeking from under my collar.
She yanked out a necklace.
“Oh, so not only do you seduce guys, you also like wearing fake jewelry to act high–class? Let me see what junk this is.”
“Don’t touch it!” My face instantly changed.
Seeing my intense reaction, Bella grew even more excited.
She lifted the necklace and examined it closely, her tone dripping with mockery.
“What’s wrong? Ashamed? Afraid I’ll expose you?”
Afraid she’d damage it, I could only grit my teeth and say, “It’s the real one.”
“Real?” Bella laughed hysterically.
“You don’t own a thing worth three grand, and yet you dare say it’s real?”
“Do you even know what this is? Boucheron’s ‘Papillon,‘ worth a hundred million.
“You afford that? At least recognize your status before you flaunt it.
The people around us joined in the ridicule
“Bella, she definitely bought it online, a knockoff to lure rich guys”
“Disgusting! A shewolf like this should be drowned!”
A cruel smile spread across Bella’s face. She gripped the chain and yanked bard.
Rip! The chain snapped
The gem–Inlaid moon fell into her palm.
My eyes instantly reddened.
That was my mother’s keepsake.
On her birthday that year, my father had bid for it and given it to her.
When she wore it, she hugged me and said it was the best gift she had ever received.
Later, during a family trip, we had a car accident.
Before her final breath, my mother stuffed the necklace into my hand.
She said, “Audrey, I will stay with you forever, like this moon.”
It was my most precious treasure.
“Give it back!”

I struggled desperately, but they held me down tightly, leaving me immobile.
Seeing my collapse, Bella laughed even more wildly.
She threw the necklace to the floor and stomped on it viciously.
Crunch…crunch…
The metal bent, the gemstones shattered into pieces.
She laughed as she stomped, “Seeing you in pain makes me so happy.”
“A slut like you deserves to watch everything she cares about be destroyed!”
My heart felt stabbed.
My mother’s smile, her last breath–everything was shattered under that stomp.
I looked at the pile of fragments on the ground, eyes red, and raised my head.
“You will
pay for this!”
Bella kicked my shin, laughing manically.
“Pay? Oh, I’m so scared.”
“With Dominde backing me, I’d love to see what price a shameless homewrecker like you could ever make me pay!”
No sooner had her words fallen, a deep engine roar sounded from afar.
Dozens of top–class Rolls Royces screeched to a stop at the entrance of Darkhawl Group.
Their doors opened in unison, and a group
of black–clad warriors filed our.
From the leading car stepped a familiar figure.
My heart skipped a beat.
