Chapter 29
“We’re so sorry, Miss Spencer,” the voice on the other end apologized immediately. “Both appliances you selected are currently out of stock, but we’ll restock them for you as soon as possible. Also, congratulations! You’ve been chosen as our store’s Lucky Star this quarter. As your reward, we’ll upgrade both appliances to our top–tier models, completely free of charge!”
Solana was utterly confused. She thought, ‘Weren’t they supposed to have plenty in stock?
“Wait, how did they suddenly run out of stock?
‘And now I’ve suddenly become their so–called “Lucky Star“?
‘Top–tier models… Of course, they’re great. Who wouldn’t want the premium version if money weren’t an issue?‘
Solana tightened her grip on her phone. “I just want to make sure, there won’t be any extra charges, right?”
“That’s absolutely right, there’s no extra charge at all,” the female customer service rep replied, her voice growing even gentler. “However, Miss Spencer, we’ll need your patience, as the cusSkye–made top–tier products just for you may take some time to be ready.”
Solana asked, a hint of impatience in her voice, “How long is that going to take?”
“I’m not quite sure about that, but we’ll get it done as soon as possible! Please be patient and wait, okay?”
Solana frowned and asked, “So, what if I switch products now?”
“Miss Spencer, no matter which product you choose to switch to, we’ll upgrade it to the top–tier version for you, completely free!”
Solana sighed inwardly. “Fine… whatever. What else can I even say?”
Solana couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being upgraded against her will. ‘Why do I feel like I’m being forced into this upgrade?‘ she thought.
Skye hung up the phone, turned around, wiped the polite smile off her face, and instantly resumed her professional demeanor. “Mr. Chairman, is this to your satisfaction?”
Smith stared at the dozens of design drafts spread across the table, frowning. “What the hell is this garbage? Has the design department completely run out of ideas? Tell them to start over! This is my precious granddaughter’s first time using our family’s products, I want them to be truly unique. Only the very best is good enough for my darling girl!”
Skye frowned at the man in front of her. What she really wanted to say was, “Honestly, maybe she just wants the appliances quickly and couldn’t care less about all those flashy but impractical designs, Chairman!”
However, seeing the chairman juggling phone calls while reprimanding the design department, Skye quickly put on a warm, professional smile as she met his stormy expression. “Of course, sir. I’ll have them revise it right away!”
Solana waited and waited. By the time summer vacation ended and she had finished all her summer homework, those two upgraded appliances still hadn’t been delivered.
Every time Solana called to inquire, the customer service treated her so well that she just couldn’t bring herself to complain.
That day, Solana met up with her client to collect the final payment.
Though she would soon no longer be a student at Knight International School, Solana still wore a face mask and sunglasses to avoid being recognized.
Benjamin handed the completed homework to Nolan, who was lounging in the backseat of the Rolls Royce.

Nolan flipped through the pages and gave a satisfied nod.
Exactly as he’d asked, the handwriting looked convincingly masculine, and the accuracy was on par
Nolan instinctively glanced up. The young girl was bundled up so tightly, mask, sunglasses, everything, that her face was completely hidden. Without a word, she grabbed the money and left. ;Didn’t even get a look at her,’ Nolan thought.
Benjamin got back into the car and drove away.
Nolan casually picked up the math homework and flipped to the first page, spotting a small line of tiny pencil writing.
The handwriting was delicate and graceful, clearly the girl’s original script. [If you ever need someone to do your homework again, just hit me up! Since you’re a regular, I’ll give you a discount!]
She included her WhatsApp ID below.
Nolan hesitated for a moment. Then, almost as if on autopilot, he pulled out his phone and entered the WhatsApp ID. The username that popped up was “Little Fairy on the Move.”
Nolan scoffed inwardly, ‘A ‘Little Fairy‘ who doesn’t even dare show her face?‘
Nolan never believed that girls who aced science could be any kind of fairy. If they weren’t outright trolls, that’d already be a miracle.
Nolan was just about to back out when a car abruptly cut in front. The driver slammed on the brakes, and with the sudden jolt, his finger landed squarely on the “Add Friend” button.
