Chapter 328

Emily only managed to escape from St. Gabriel Reform Academy because Jackson and his team risked everything, finding some evidence in the academy and putting their lives on the line to get her out of that place.

But Emily didn’t dare tell anyone about those two years. She knew that if she ever spoke up, even with the evidence in her hands, the first thing the academy would do was to kill her.

She knew that, even after all this time away from St. Gabriel Reform Academy, her every move was still under their watchful eyes. That was why she never dared mention St. Gabriel Reform Academy to anyone. She never thought Vincent would start looking into it.

With the means of St. Gabriel Reform Academy, they would probably find her soon. Emily had to start preparing now. She couldn’t even bother with what she originally wanted to talk to Lucas about. She wanted to go back and set things up.

The shadow St. Gabriel Reform Academy left in her heart ran way too deep. But after Emily said goodbye to Lucas and Vincent and was about to get in her car, someone snatched her in the underground parking garage and shoved her into a

van.

The familiar scent of knockout drugs hit her nose, and a wave of panic crashed over her. The next second, she was swallowed by darkness, as if she’d been dragged straight back into that terrifying environment.

Lucas and Vincent had no idea Emily had just been kidnapped right after she left. The two of them just stood there, staring at each other, still confused by Emily’s sudden outburst.

Lucas glanced at the file bag Emily had dropped in her hurry and bent down to pick it up. Inside, a family background file on Cale, DNA test results for Emily and Cale, for Lydia and Cale, and a separate bag containing Cale’s hair.

“It’s impossible,” Lucas muttered with a pale face. His hands trembled as he grabbed the documents, his expression twisted with disbelief.

Lucas thought, ‘How can Lydia not be part of the Bennett family?’ It was because he always believed Lydia was truly family, and he treated her so well, even if it meant hurting Emily over and over again.

Even knowing Lydia was a liar, all he ever felt was anger and disappointment, but deep down, he still saw her as his sister. Now he was hit with the news that Lydia and Cale were related by blood.

Of course, he knew who Cale was. When they were investigating Lydia’s kidnapping, he was outworking the cops, even going so far as to dig into Cale’s background.

But it had never crossed his mind that Cale might have anything to do with the Harper parents who ended up raising Lydia by mistake all those years ago.

Back then, Lydia had insisted that after the Harper parents died in an accident, all their relatives and friends saw her as nothing but a burden, leaving her with no family at all. That was why everyone treated her even better.

Lucas thought, ‘But why is there suddenly a so-called half-brother showing up now?’

Vincent glanced at the documents in the file bag, and though he was shocked, he didn’t freak out the way Lucas did. After skimming through everything, he said without hesitation, “These are all fake.”

Lucas looked at him, confused, but Vincent just doubled down, his tone firm. “After all these years, you still don’t get how Emily operates? It’s just another one of her stunts to get us worked up.

“She’s always been jealous of Lydia, always trying to snatch whatever Lydia has. Deep down, she just can’t stand that Lydia is the Bennett family’s heiress, so she cooked all this up on purpose.
