Chapter 342

Having grown up together, Emily knew exactly how much Andrew valued the company. That was why, in the end, she went straight to him with the problem.

To her surprise, Andrew didn’t even bother looking at the documents. He just said flatly. “This is your problem to solve. Don’t bother me with it.

“If people keep running to me with every little problem, I might as well just spend my whole day cleaning up their messes.”

Hearing that, Emily understood everything. Andrew did care about profits, but he had never seen her project as part of those that could bring them profits.

That was why Andrew never gave her any backup from the start. Even Sean giving her a hard time was probably his idea. Once Emily figured it out, she couldn’t help but laugh.

Andrew frowned, clearly displeased by her reaction. “What’s so funny?”

Emily looked at him without saying a word, then turned and walked away.

Her attitude pissed him off, but the irritation didn’t last. He thought, ‘What a joke. Does she think she can change anything by doing this?’

Andrew soon pushed the matter out of his mind. He figured it wouldn’t be long before Emily left the company in defeat, and he might even find a way to make her hand over her shares voluntarily.

To his surprise, however, Emily walked into his office the next day with a stack of documents. “Mr. Bennett, I know you’re busy, so I’ll keep it short. Everything for this project is ready, and all we’re waiting on is Sean’s approval.

“If you’re not interested in it, I’ll just take my team and launch it somewhere else. I’ve got twenty percent of Bennett Group’s shares, and I’m sure there’ll be investors lining up.”

She knew exactly how to handle someone like Andrew-just make the gains impossible to ignore, Only when he saw the real benefits of the project would he be willing to compromise.

Just as Emily expected, Andrew, who had barely looked at her before, straightened up as soon as he finished reading. He finally stopped looking at her like she was a joke.

When Emily first brought out the project proposal, it got approval from all the shareholders, and Andrew could see the substantial profits in it. However, he just didn’t think she was up to the task.

Andrew planned to wait until Emily hit a wall and gave up, then he would step in and take over the project himself. That way, he could stop her reckless behavior and still secure a great opportunity for the company.

It turned out he completely underestimated Emily. Not only did she manage to handle the lack of talent, but she also pulled off an impressive plan.

For the first time, Andrew looked at Emily with real seriousness and respect in his eyes.

Even before the truth about who Emily really was came to light, Andrew had always seen her as a spoiled heiress who didn’t know anything about business. He never imagined she was capable of this.

Truth was, while Emily could come up with the ideas, she couldn’t have executed them so flawlessly without Austin’s help. However, that was something she had no intention of telling Andrew.
