Lucas was completely laken aback, and it took him a moment to process what was happening
“That’s not what I meant at all. Why are they all turning on me?‘ he thought, feeling lost.
Lydia’s eyes brimmed with tears, looking the they could fall at any second. She leaned pitifully against Emma, her gare locked on Lucas, looking utterly wronged.
“Lucas, what’s gotten into you lately? Why are you always siding with Emily and doubting me? I was a victim in that kidnappington, Lydia said, her voice trembling.
“I’ve never done anything like kidnapping anyone. If anything, it was Emily who–Why is everyone always suspecting me?” Lydia sobbed, her finally spilled over, streaming down her checks.
Andrew’s heart ached. He couldn’t hold back his anger anymore. He glared at Lucas and snapped, “You’re getting more and more out of line. How could
you even suspect Lydia?
“Lydia is so kind and pure. There’s no way she’d ever do something like ordering a kidnapping. The only one who could pull something like that is Emily”
“If she hadn’t gotten someone to kidnap Lila back then–Andrew’s voice broke off abruptly, but the anger and pain in his eyes only grew stronger.

“When Emily was being blamed by all of them before, did she feel the same way I do now–panicked, hurt, disappointed, and completely lost, thought.
“Andrew, don’t be mad at Lucas, I’m sure he didn’t mean it that way. Maybe he just heard some nasty rumors, and that’s why he misorderstood Lydia said, sounding all gentle and considerate.
