Chapter 273
Seeing that Emily was still glaring at Lydia like she wanted to kill her, Andrew stormed over and grabbed her by the arm,
furious.
“About those photos, you already played dumb and got away. Don’t even think about-” Before he could finish, Emily suddenly gave out and started to collapse.
Emily was already woozy from her head injury, and Vincent had shoved her earlier, making her hit her head again. She forced herself to come because she was worried about Charles; otherwise, she would’ve passed out long ago.
Right now, the only thing keeping Emily upright was the wall she was leaning against. When Andrew yanked her, she lost her support and was about to just collapse right there.
Andrew instinctively reached out to catch Emily, but before he could, someone suddenly grabbed his wrist and forcefully flung it back.
Andrew staggered back a couple of steps before steadying himself. Frowning, he looked up to see Austin had appeared suddenly, carefully pulling Emily into his arms.
Austin’s face was filled with worry. When his eyes landed on Emily’s blood-soaked head, he froze for a second, then a violent rage surged uncontrollably in his deep eyes.
Emily felt dazed for a moment. When she finally saw who it was, it was like a string that had been pulled tight in her heart suddenly relaxed. Her voice was a little hoarse, and her nose tingled. “Why are you here?”
Actually, ever since that night, Austin had been worried that Emily might get bullied by the Bennett Family, so he had been keeping a close eye on them.
Seeing Emily in such a mess, Austin could only blame himself for being a step too late.
He forced down the violent rage churning inside him and gave Emily the sunny smile she loved most. “Don’t be scared, Emily. I’m here. You’re not alone.”
His gaze swept over everyone in the room, as if he were trying to burn their faces into his memory. He swore he’d make them pay back a thousandfold for what they did to Emily.
Austin pulled his gaze back and gently helped Emily to her feet. “Emily, let me take care of your wounds first.”
Emily shook her head. She didn’t say a word, but her gaze stubbornly locked on the operating room. Austin understood what she meant and knew there was no use trying to talk her out of it, so he let it go.
Austin helped Emily sit down in a chair, then went to get some medicine from a nurse and personally cleaned and dressed
her wounds.
The whole time, he didn’t say a single word to the Bennett Family. Except for that cold look he shot them at the start, it was like they didn’t even exist to him.
Just moments ago, Emily had been completely out of control; no one could stop her. But now, she sat there quietly, letting
Austin tend to her wounds.
Watching this scene, everyone felt a strange, inexplicable sense of unease, as if something important had just been taken away from them, especially Vincent.
Vincent knew better than anyone how much Emily hated being touched by strangers. All those years, aside from the Bennett Family, he was the only one who could ever get this close to her.

Chapter 273
But now, Emily was letting Austin’s fingers gently rub against her skin, and she didn’t show the slightest hint of resistance.
Vincent’s face was taut, his eyes locked on Austin’s hand touching Emily’s skin, as if he might rush over and do something at
any second.
Lydia was the first to notice something was off about Vincent. She followed his gaze, and her face immediately twisted.
Lydia just couldn’t figure it out. Ever since Emily came back, nothing seemed to go her way anymore.
‘I should’ve made sure Emily never got out when we sent her to St. Gabriel Reform Academy. She should’ve stayed there
forever,’ she wondered.
Lydia put on a stiff smile and tugged at Vincent’s hand, trying to pull his attention back. “Vincent, I’m so scared.”
