Chapter 352

However, Lucas clearly underestimated Lydia’s cunning. She pulled out the DNA test results related to Emily and looked at him as if she had seen through everything. “You went through all this trouble just for Emily, didn’t you? Did she put you up

to this?

“Before, you bullied me because of her. Then you came home and apologized, and I actually thought you’d changed. Turns out, it was all just a setup to frame me.”

Lydia’s eyes were red and swollen, her entire being radiating a heartbreaking sense of fragility. “If Emily wants to return, she can just say so. I’m willing to give up my position for her. Why does she have to use such tactics?

“I finally found my real family, and I don’t mind sharing them with her. But she can’t even tolerate me being here at all. I…”.

Her eyes mind.

darted around the room until they landed on the open window, and suddenly, a desperate idea flashed through her

She turned back to the Bennett Family, tears streaming down her face, her gaze full of sorrow, despair, heartbreak, and pain -cach look stabbing straight into their hearts.

“Dad, Mom, Andrew, Vincent, it’s been the greatest joy of my life to have met you all in this lifetime. If I were given another chance, I would wish to be your family and love again.”

As soon as she finished, she shut her eyes and dashed toward the window, her fragile, pitiful figure just like a little white flower blown helplessly in the wind.

The room had been dead silent, everyone just waiting for Lydia to say something. But when she suddenly bolted, it shocked. them all. In a flurry, they scrambled to stop her.

Fortunately, Lydia wasn’t moving that fast. She even accidentally ran into the corner of the bed and paused for a second, so it was easy for them to catch up and block her way.

Vincent was the first to grab her hand, pulling her straight into his arms. His heart was in his throat, pounding with fear.

“Let me go. If I’m gone, Emily can have my place, and the family can finally have some peace. Please, just let me die.”

Lydia cried and struggled, looking so pitiful and broken-like someone who’d been completely misunderstood and had lost all hope.

The Bennett Family instantly forgot all their doubts and suspicions. Their hearts ached for her, and they hurried to pull her into their arms, comforting her as if she were the most fragile thing in the world.

But Lucas didn’t even budge, calling out Lydia’s bluff right away. “If she really wants to die, then let her. All that dramatic talk, but she’s just waiting for you to rush over and stop her. Can’t you see she’s just putting on a show?”

Now that he’d finally seen Lydia’s true colors, it was like a lightbulb had finally gone off in Lucas’s head.

But honestly, Lucas had no clue just how crafty Lydia could be. He totally forgot that, over the years, Emily had exposed Lydia’s lies right to their faces more than once.

When Lydia heard what Lucas said, she started struggling even harder, her sobs getting even louder. “Vincent, just let me die.” she wailed, crying her heart out.

But Vincent wasn’t letting go. In the middle of all the chaos, Emma started crying too. “Lydia, please, just try to calm down, okay?”

Seeing the daughter she cherished above all else in such a state, Emma felt her heart shatter. She couldn’t think about anything else.

And when she saw Lucas, still looking like he was about to say something, all her reason just snapped. Without a second thought, she stormed over and slapped him hard across the face.

The slap was hard and unforgiving, catching Lucas completely off guard. He stumbled to the side, his forehead slamming

into the wall.

A wave of dizziness hit him, and before his vision could even clear, he heard Emma’s voice, thick with disappointment. “Lucas, are you really trying to push Lydia to her death?”
