Chapter 372

Still, she never imagined Sean would suddenly change his mind and use such vicious, disgusting tactics against her.

Emily bit down hard on her lip, repeating to herself over and over that she and Austin had set everything up perfectly— there was no way anything could go wrong. But even so, she couldn’t stop her body from trembling.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the line, Austin’s face grew cold and grim. He didn’t care about the agreed-upon timing anymore he quickly got out of the car and rushed after them. For a split second, a flash of intense murderous intent crossed his eyes.

Sean turned to look at Isolde, suspicion in his eyes.

Isolde was never one to talk much, and after so many years with Sean, she’d never once questioned what he did.

So hearing her say so, Sean’s brows knitted in irritation, confusion flashing in his eyes. But then it clicked. He thought, ‘Even though Isolde could fight better than those guys, she is still a woman-of course, she’d feel weird about this kind of stuff.

Sean waved his hand dismissively and said, “You don’t need to feel sorry for someone rotten to the core like her. She tried to seduce Vincent and made Lydia miserable.

“I have to make sure she never dares to compete with Lydia for a man again. That crazy bitch went nuts and bit a chunk out of me, leaving me with a scar for life.

“If the others hadn’t held her back, she probably would’ve tried to kill me right then and there. She’s just getting what she deserves now. If you don’t go hard on someone like her, she’ll never learn her lesson.”

Sean acted like he was some kind of hero, ridding the world of evil, totally convinced he was doing the right thing.

Isolde pressed her lips together, her face icy and giving nothing away, but one could see the anger burning in her eyes. Afraid that Sean would catch on, she quickly lowered her head, pretending his words had actually gotten through to her.

Sean gave a careless laugh and said, “If you can’t stand it, just wait outside. Keep watch and make sure nobody ruins our little party.”

Isolde lifted her head, her emotions already under control. She replied calmly, “No need. I’m your personal bodyguard. Wherever you are, that’s where I’ll be.”

Sean laughed even harder. He said, “You’re really winning me over, Isolde. When we get back, I’ll give you a raise. Trust me, as long as you stay loyal to me, I’ll make sure you never lose out.”

Isolde didn’t show any hint of happiness or flattery at his words. She maintained that icy look on her face and said, “Thank you, Mr. Sinclair.”

Sean knew she’d react like that. He gestured for her to step aside and turned his attention back to Emily,

He could hardly wait to see Emily crying and begging for mercy beneath him, so he didn’t even notice that Isolde hadn’t moved aside-instead, she’d subtly edged closer to Emily.

Sean reached out and grabbed Emily’s chin, looking cocky and triumphant. He sneered, “Emily, now that you’ve landed in my hands, shouldn’t you be begging me for mercy?”

Blindfolded and unable to see a thing, Emily could only sense Sean’s presence nearby. She snapped, “Sean, you know this is a crime, right? Now that you work at Bennett Group, you should know how much Andrew cares about the company.

“If this blows up and hurts the business, aren’t you afraid Andrew will make you pay for it?”

Sean shot back, “Everyone here is with me. Who’s going to make a scene? You? If you dare to make this public, I’ll upload today’s video online. Do you have the guts to do that?”

Emily fought back the disgust from his grip on her chin and asked, “Sean, we’ve never had any real grudge between us. Why are you doing this to me?”

Sean’s grip on her chin tightened. He said, “Who says we don’t have a grudge? You bullied Lydia-that makes you my enemy.”

Emily demanded, “So, Lydia put you up to this?”
