Chapter 376
Austin stared at Calvin, his eyes openly cold and wary. He said, “Calvin, long time no see.” His lips curved faintly, and with those two dimples, it should have been a sweet, friendly smile-but for some reason, it just radiated an icy chill.
Austin had thought his plan for today was foolproof, not needing to worry about Sean making any last-minute changes. What he hadn’t counted on was Calvin showing up out of nowhere and throwing everything into chaos.
Calvin, on the other hand, didn’t seem the least bit surprised to see Austin. He calmly smoothed out the wrinkles in his clothes, caused by his earlier stumble, maintaining his meticulous composure all the while, before finally turning to face
Austin.
He slipped back into that cold, aristocratic demeanor as he said, “It has been a long time. Where have you been all this time? Do you have any idea how long I’ve been looking for you, my dear little brother?”
Those last words seemed to carry a strange, unreadable undertone.
Austin met his gaze head-on, that sweet, friendly smile never leaving his lips, but his eyes seemed to draw one in. He retorted, “Looking for me? How’d you do that, just by talking about it?
“It looks like you’ve put on some weight lately. Not having to see me must’ve put you in a good mood-and given you quite the appetite, huh?”
Austin knew Calvin all too well. Calvin might look all calm and dignified, but deep down, nobody cared more about appearances than he did.
Sure enough, Calvin’s cool, aloof demeanor cracked instantly, and his eyes flashed with anger as he glared at Austin. He snapped, “That mouth of yours is as infuriating as ever.”
Austin’s smile didn’t waver. He said, “You make it sound like you ever liked me.”
The two of them stood close to each other. One wore a bright, friendly smile, looking pure. The other carried a cold, noble aura, like the calm and capable older brother. But when their eyes met, sparks seemed to fly between them.
Everyone sensed the strange tension in the air and didn’t dare make a sound, especially Sean.
Sean had only come today to stand up for Lydia, wanting to teach Emily a lesson. He never imagined things would spiral out of control like this. What pissed him off even more was Isolde, who had been fooling him for all these years.
He seethed inwardly, ‘Once this is all over, I am definitely going to make sure that traitor pays the price!
Sean forced down his anger and nervously glanced up at Calvin. He said, “I’m sure this whole thing is just a big misunderstanding. My dad’s the vice president of Bennett Group, and he set a curfew for me.
“I have to be home by eight every night, or he’ll call the cops. You guys can talk about your personal stuff. I’ll just stay out of
it.”
Sean figured that by dropping his dad’s name and playing up the obvious tension between Austin and Calvin, he could slip away. He tried to shake off the bodyguards holding him.
But without Calvin’s say-so, the bodyguards weren’t about to let Sean go. Instead, they just tightened their grip and pinned Sean to the floor, making him yelp in pain.
Calvin’s gaze did land on Sean, but there was no sign of him telling the bodyguard to release Sean. Something seemed to strike him, and he leaned forward a bit, glancing at Emily, who was still being protected behind Austin.

Chapter 376
He said, “You must trust Austin to go this far-using yourself as bait just to set this guy up. But at the end of the day, you’re still a girl.
“No matter how deep your grudge against this guy is, you shouldn’t be the one taking all the risks. Austin has always been reckless and way too impulsive.”
