Chapter 392

“You” was all he got out before everything went black, and he slumped over on the couch. Jeremy calmly swirled the wine in his glass, still wearing that smooth, gentlemanly smile.

He lifted a hand, and two bodyguards came in without a word. They each grabbed one of Vincent’s arms and hauled him

out.

They took him straight to a hotel and went right up to the top-floor presidential suite. Inside, two women with curvy bodies and barely-there outfits had been waiting.

The bodyguards tossed Vincent onto the bed. One of them looked at the women and said, “He’s new. Make sure he’s taken

care of.”

The women flashed empty smiles, the kind that looked practiced but lifeless. Their expressions were numb, their actions mechanical, like they were following a pre-set routine.

As soon as the bodyguards left, the two women exchanged a glance. One pulled out her phone. The other walked straight over to Vincent and began undressing him like she’d done it a hundred times before.

Emily didn’t pay much attention to Lucas’s dramatic gestures. She stayed busy with her stuff, acting like whatever happened to Sean had nothing to do with her.

Isolde hadn’t spent all those years by Sean’s side for nothing. The Sinclair family was done for; there was no coming back. The minute Sean’s conviction became final, Emily went straight to find Isolde.

They hadn’t spent much time together before, but Emily could already tell how badly Isolde wanted to get revenge for Deborah. She knew Adrian would be her next target.

But what Emily didn’t realize was just how desperate Isolde already was. When she finally tracked her down, Isolde was sitting in her rundown apartment, patching up fresh wounds.

She’d gotten hurt in an underground fight ring. Even though the Mercer family had cleaned up their public image, they were still running a lot of shady business on the side.

Underground fighting was one of their operations. Isolde knew she had no money, no power, and nobody to back her up. The only thing she could count on was her toughness and ability to take a hit.

So she chose the roughest path. She joined the Mercers’ underground fight scene, hoping to get close to Adrian that way.

She had waited for years by Sean’s side just to get revenge and dig up the truth about who bought Deborah all those years ago. If she could do that, she could wait a few more years to get close to Adrian.

And if a few years weren’t enough, she was ready to spend decades. She had her whole life to settle the score for Deborah.

Isolde’s determination was so intense that even Emily, who’d planned to talk her out of it, ended up staying quiet.

Instead, Emily found her a better place to live. She also quietly wiped out any trace of Isolde’s time with Sean and gave her a completely new identity.

Isolde wanted a shot at Adrian, so Emily gave her one. She’d let her take revenge with her own hands.

Emily told her, “I don’t have the right to stop you from going after him. But I promised Deborah I’d look out for you. So I’m not gonna let you go through this all alone.”

Chapter 392

When Isolde looked into Emily’s eyes, so sincere and stubborn, she wanted to say no. But in the end, all she said was,

“Thanks”

Since she’d spent years preparing for this, staying off the radar wasn’t a problem for Isolde. Emily handled everything quietly from behind. She was ready to help whenever needed, but from here on out, Isolde had to walk the rest of the road

herself.

After wrapping things up, Emily turned her attention back to the company. Lydia stirred things up, so hardly anyone on the team was doing their job right.

Emily had her own bigger plans, so she didn’t bother calling out the slackers. But that also meant she had to take on way

more work herself.

She even had to personally follow up on supplier meetings step by step. What she didn’t see coming, though, was that the supplier she was supposed to meet never showed. Instead, the person waiting for her was Calvin.
