Chapter 419

‘Did all this happen to Vincent because of St. Gabriel Reform Academy?’ he thought to himself.

All of a sudden, Andrew remembered a small but telling detail. Ever since Emily had come back from St. Gabriel Reform Academy, he realized he had never once seen her arms or legs uncovered.

Even when she wore a dress, she always made sure to wrap herself up tightly, never letting any skin show.

‘Could it be… Andrew thought, a sense of dread creeping in. His eyes fell on Vincent’s exposed, scarred skin, and his heart trembled.

What exactly did Emily go through during those two years at St. Gabriel Reform Academy?’ Andrew thought, his mind spinning.

Panic clawed its way up from deep inside Andrew, and suddenly, he felt-like he couldn’t breathe. He didn’t even spare a thought for Vincent. He fled the hospital room in a panic.

Andrew barely remembered how he got out of the psychiatric hospital, or how he made it back home.

He didn’t even respond to Gale’s greeting. He rushed straight to his room, sat down on the edge of his bed, and zoned out, lost in a daze.

Andrew kept telling himself this was impossible, that there had to be some kind of mistake. No matter what, he just couldn’t accept the truth he’d already guessed most of.

But every time he closed his eyes, his mind was haunted by the changes in Emily since she came back from St. Gabriel Reform Academy, and Vincent’s crazed, broken words echoing in his head.

Even at night, in his sleep, he’d see those gruesome, horrifying scars from Vincent’s body appearing on Emily, and he’d wake up in terror.

After stumbling through the next few days in a haze, Andrew made up his mind. He had to uncover the truth about what Emily had gone through during those two years at St. Gabriel Reform Academy, or it would drive him insane.

Once he made that decision, Andrew poured all his energy into investigating St. Gabriel Reform Academy.

He had no idea just how powerful the forces behind it were, or what kind of disaster he might bring down on himself by provoking them. Andrew didn’t bother hiding his actions at all. .

Luckily, before St. Gabriel Reform Academy caught on, Austin picked up on what Andrew was doing and wiped away any trace of his investigation.

Of course, Austin didn’t do this for Andrew’s sake. He only did it to keep Emily from getting dragged into trouble because of

him.

When Emily caught wind of Andrew digging into St. Gabriel Reform Academy, she knew he must’ve heard something from

Vincent.

No matter what he’d found out, since he was so eager to know what happened to her at St. Gabriel Reform Academy, she figured she might as well let him satisfy his curiosity.

At Emily’s signal, Austin let slip a few hints, helping Andrew get a rough idea of what the academy was really like.

But even just a glimpse of what the place was like was more than Andrew could bear. He never imagined that the place he’d personally sent Emily to would turn out to be such a hellhole.

‘No… This was never what I wanted, he thought.

For the first time ever, Andrew didn’t care about his image at all. He lost it and rushed straight to find Emily.

He showed up out of nowhere, and the bodyguards immediately moved to block him, keeping him from getting any closer. But Andrew didn’t even notice them. He stared at Emily and demanded, “Tell me it’s not true. Tell me you didn’t go through all that. St. Gabriel Reform Academy isn’t that kind of place, right?”

Seeing him like this, Emily understood why he was so agitated and let out a cold laugh.

She stared at Andrew, her words sharp and cruel. “Of course, St. Gabriel Reform Academy is that kind of place. People are treated like cargo, forced to sell their bodies and even their organs.

“You can’t handle just this? What you’ve found out is only the tip of the iceberg. The darkness inside is way deeper than you can imagine.”
