Chapter 124
“Always so responsive,” I murmured appreciatively, circling her most sensitive spot with my thumb.
Summer’s hips bucked against my hand. “Only for you,” she gasped, her nails digging into my shoulders.
My control snapped.
I swept the papers off my desk with one arm and lifted her onto it, pushing the shirt up to reveal her
perfect body.
“Spread your legs for me, Luna,” I commanded, my voice dipping into that deep Alpha register that
always made her tremble—and obey.
“God, yes, Alexander,” she breathed, leaning back on her elbows, legs parting eagerly for me as she sat perched on the edge of the desk–completely open to me.
I dropped to my knees in front of her, my hands gripping her thighs, just about to taste her when-
“Hey! Alexander, we need to-“Lyra’s voice froze mid–sentence.
I turned my head just in time to see her standing in the doorway, wide–eyed, mouth hanging open.
“Oh. Shit!“Her hand slapped over her eyes. “Sorry! But also, not my fault you didn’t lock the door!”
Summer’s cheeks flushed a beautiful pink as she buried her face against my chest. I, on the other hand, was ready to murder my sister.
“Lyra,” I growled, the Alpha in me surging with frustration at the interruption. “Get. Out.”
“I’m going, I’m going!” she assured me, backing away with her eyes still covered. “But seriously, you two need to get dressed. We’re supposed to leave in twenty minutes!”
The door closed behind her with a decisive click, and I let out a frustrated groan.
“I swear, sometimes I think she times these interruptions on purpose,” I muttered. “I think she needs to be taught a lesson.”
Summer giggled against my chest before raising her head to meet my gaze. “Don’t be too hard on her. ”
“Is there any reward if I’m gentle?” I asked, my voice low, laced with heat.
Her lips met mine in a sweet kiss that quickly deepened, stealing my irritation and replacing it with something far more dangerous.
When she finally pulled away, her fingers traced the line of my jaw with tender affection.
“Was that enough?” she whispered, eyes glittering with mischief.

I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, marveling at how easily she could soothe the Alpha in me.
“No,” I growled, my desire reignited by her touch. I was just about to show her exactly what she did to me
when-
“Alpha? Luna? Sorry to interrupt, but we need to leave in twenty minutes if we’re going to make the appointment.” Lyra’s voice called through the door, sounding both apologetic and amused.
I growled in frustration. “We’ll be right there, Lyra.”
Then I let my forehead fall to Summer’s shoulder with a groan.“This is war.”
Summer laughed softly, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “Such a shame… I was really enjoying watching you fall apart.”
I narrowed my eyes at her, but the smirk tugging at my lips betrayed me.“Go get dressed before I change my mind and tell everyone we’re taking a personal day.”
She giggled, clearly not the least bit sorry, then tilted her head in curiosity. “What’s so urgent that we need to leave so early?” she asked. “Where exactly are we going today?”
“It’s a surprise,” I said, pressing a kiss to the tip of her nose. “But I think you’ll like it.”
“Trust me?” I asked softly.
Her smile–rare since we lost Felix, but all the more precious–lit up her entire face.
“Well then,” she said with a grin, stepping off my lap, “I’d better hurry and change before Lyra comes back and ruins the moment again.”
“I suppose so,” I agreed reluctantly, giving her bottom a playful squeeze before letting her slide off my desk. “But we’re finishing what we started–later.”
Her eyes softened as she reached up to stroke my cheek. “Promise?”
“Wild wolves couldn’t keep me away,” I vowed
As she left to get ready, I silently renewed my vow to destroy anyone who threatened her happiness- starting with Alpha Foster.
The man who had broken her spirit, abused her trust, and failed to protect their son would soon learn what happened when you crossed an Alpha protecting his mate.
And it would not be a gentle lesson.
