Chapter 51
“If you ever try to touch her again,” Alex said, his voice a terrifying whisper, “I will tear your throat out and watch you bleed.”
I could see the killing intent in Alex’s eyes, the way his canines had lengthened. If he killed Alpha Foster here, in front of representatives from every major pack in the region, it would damage the Blackwood Pack’s reputation regardless of how justified his actions might be.
“Alex,” I said softly, approaching cautiously. I placed my hand on his back, feeling the tremors of rage coursing through his muscles. “He’s not worth it.”
For a moment, I thought he wouldn’t respond. Then, with visible effort, Alex loosened his grip on Alpha
Foster’s throat, though his eyes never lost their murderous glint.
I wrapped my arms around his waist, pressing my body against his back. “Please,” I whispered against
his skin. “For me.”
Alex stood in one fluid motion, stepping back but keeping himself between me and Alpha Foster. As
Alpha Foster struggled to his feet, gasping for air, Alex signaled to his security team.
“Escort Alpha Foster and his companion off my property,” he ordered. “If they resist, use whatever force
necessary.”
As the guards surrounded Alpha Foster and Suzanna, leading them toward the exit, Alex turned to our stunned guests.
“My apologies for the interruption,” he said smoothly, his formal Alpha persona sliding back into place.” Please, the night is young. Enjoy the celebration.”
The band began playing again, though conversations remained hushed and eyes continued to flicker toward us. Alex wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close against his side.
“Are you alright?” he asked, his voice low.
“Yes,” I replied, though my heart was still racing. “I should check on Felix.”
“Of course.” Alex kept his hand at the small of my back as we moved through the crowd toward my son,
who was already being comforted by Lyra.
As we approached, Felix looked up at Alex with something like admiration in his eye. “You were really
going to kill him, weren’t you?”
“Felix,” I admonished, though without much conviction.
Alex crouched down to Felix’s level, his expression serious. “I will always protect what’s mine,” he said simply. “And that includes you now, too.” 1

I watched as my son’s face transformed with a shy smile, and something in my chest squeezed tight. This fierce, dangerous man who could bring an Alpha to his knees was speaking to my son with genuine
care and protection.
Maybe, just maybe, we had finally found somewhere we truly belonged.
Alexander’s POV
As soon as I was certain Summer and Felix were settled, I scanned the room for Ethan. Finding my Beta
near the bar, I strode over, fury still simmering beneath my skin.
“Who the fuck let them in?” I demanded without preamble. “Alpha Foster’s entire pack is on our blacklist.”
Ethan’s expression darkened. “I’m already investigating, Alpha. The security team at the main gate
claims they had clearance.”
“Clearance? From who?” My voice dropped to a dangerous growl. “Someone in my pack authorized this?”
“I’m working on it,” Ethan assured me, already typing on his phone. “Give me five minutes.”
I nodded curtly and returned to Summer, who was now engaged in conversation with some of the elder
pack members. Her emerald dress caught the light as she laughed at something one of them said, and
possessive pride surged through me. Despite the interruption, she seemed to be handling everything with remarkable poise.
“They love you,” I murmured in her ear as I slid an arm around her waist.
She smiled up at me, her eyes bright. “Your pack has been surprisingly welcoming.”
“Our pack,” I corrected her, enjoying the slight flush that colored her cheeks. “And why wouldn’t they be? You’ve already charmed the most difficult member.”
“Oh?” She raised an eyebrow. “And who would that be?”
“Me,” I said simply, brushing my lips against her temple.
We were interrupted by Ethan’s return. His expression told me everything before he even spoke.
“A word, Alpha?” he requested, his eyes flickering briefly to Summer.
I squeezed Summer’s hand. “I’ll be right back.”
Once we were out of earshot, Ethan’s professional facade slipped slightly. “It was Natalia Thompson who authorized their entry. She apparently told the guards you had personally approved it.”
