Chapter 63
The confidence in his voice both reassured and intrigued me, but each time I pressed for details, he skillfully changed the subject.
As we approached the city limits, traffic slowed to a crawl. Alexander checked his watch and frowned.” We’re still early, but this delay is unexpected.”
“Construction,” I noted, pointing to the signs ahead.
He nodded, then glanced at me with a mischievous glint in his eye. “This means we have some time to
kill.”
Before I could respond, his hand landed on my knee, his touch warm even through my jeans.
“Alexander,” I whispered, glancing nervously at the privacy partition between us and the driver.“What are you doing?”
“Helping you relax.” His fingers slowly crept upward, tracing tantalizing patterns along my inner thigh.”
You’re too tense, Summer.”
My breath caught as his fingers reached the seam of my jeans, applying just enough pressure to make me squirm. “Alexander… we’re in traffic.”
“The partition is soundproof,” he murmured against my ear, as if reading my thoughts. “And the windows
are tinted. No one can see us.”
Then his fingers deftly unbuttoned my jeans, slipping beneath the waistband with practiced ease. “Still want me to stop?” he asked, voice husky with desire.
I bit my lip, heat pooling low in my belly as his fingertips brushed against the cotton of my panties. “Don’t
you dare.”
His chuckle was dark and satisfied as he pushed the fabric aside, finding me already wet for him. “So
responsive,” he praised, circling my clit with deliberate slowness. “Always so ready for me.”
I gripped the door handle, my head falling back against the seat as pleasure built rapidly under his skilled touch. Two fingers slipped inside me, curling to find that perfect spot while his thumb continued its assault on my sensitive bundle of nerves.
“That’s it,” he encouraged, his voice dropping to that commanding Alpha tone that made my inner walls clench around his fingers. “Let go for me, little wolf. I want to feel you come.”
The combination of his words, his touch, and the forbidden nature of our location pushed me rapidly toward the edge. My breathing became ragged, my hips rising to meet his hand as the tension built to an
almost unbearable level.

“Alexander,” I gasped, feeling my release approaching like a tidal wave. “I’m going to-”
“Do it,” he commanded. “Come for your Alpha.”
The orgasm crashed through me with unexpected intensity, making me cry out as waves of pleasure radiated from my core. Alexander continued his movements, drawing out every last tremor until I was
boneless and breathless beside him.
As I slowly returned to reality, I realized the traffic had begun moving again. Alexander withdrew his
hand with obvious reluctance, bringing his fingers to his lips and licking them clean while maintaining eye contact in a way that made me want to climb into his lap right there.
“Delicious,” he murmured. “Though not as satisfying as tasting you properly.”
I flushed, hastily rebuttoning my jeans as we accelerated toward our destination. “You’re incorrigible.”
“Only with you.” His smile was predatory. “And don’t think I’m done with you today.”
Without warning, he leaned in, capturing my lips in a kiss that stole what little breath I had left. His mouth was demanding, possessive, claiming me with an intensity that made my toes curl in my shoes. I
melted against him, my hands finding their way into his hair, holding him close as our tongues danced
together.
And then I heard it–a soft, feminine voice that wasn’t my own conscious thoughts.
[Mate.]
The word echoed through my mind with crystal clarity, causing me to gasp and pull away from
Alexander’s kiss.
“Summer? What’s wrong?” Alexander’s expression shifted from desire to concern in an instant.
“I–I heard her,” I whispered, my voice trembling. “Aurora. My wolf. She spoke to me.”
Alexander’s eyes widened, a flash of something–hope? excitement?-crossing his features before he carefully schooled his expression. “What did she say?”
I hesitated, not quite ready to share the exact word that had resonated through my consciousness.” “I’m
not sure… I didn’t catch the whole word.“”
Alexander studied me for a moment, then reached out gently, brushing a strand of hair from my face.
“That’s a good sign. It means she’s waking up.” His voice was low, thoughtful. “Maybe she’s still gathering strength. Maybe one day soon, you’ll be able to talk to her–really talk.”
There was something in his eyes–a knowledge he wasn’t sharing–but before I could question him further, the SUV slowed, turning into the impressive circular drive of the Council headquarters.

“We’re here,” he said, his voice returning to its usual authoritative tone. “Ready to face them?”
I nodded, trying to focus on the hearing ahead, even as my mind raced with questions about what had just happened. Why had Aurora chosen this moment to speak after years of silence? And why had her first word been “mate“?
