Chapter 69
Summer’s POV
I woke to the sensation of warm lips trailing along my shoulder blade. Early morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a golden glow across Alexander’s massive bed. His strong arm was wrapped possessively around my waist, holding me against his hard chest.
“Morning, beautiful,” he murmured against my skin, his voice deliciously rough with sleep.
Memories of last night flooded back–his hands exploring every inch of my body, his mouth claiming mine with a hunger that matched my own. I felt my cheeks warm as I remembered how I’d surrendered to him completely, how I’d called out his name as waves of pleasure crashed over me.
I turned in his arms to face him, taking in his tousled dark hair and those piercing blue eyes that seemed to see right through me. A slight stubble darkened his jaw, making him look even more dangerous and
irresistible.
“Stop looking at me like that,” I whispered, suddenly self–conscious.
“Like what?” He traced my lower lip with his thumb.
“Like you want to devour me whole.”
His lips curved into that wicked smile that made my heart race. “That’s exactly what I want to do.” He leaned down, capturing my mouth in a kiss that stole my breath. When he pulled back, his eyes were dark
with desire. “Again.”
His hand slid down my bare side, leaving a trail of fire in its wake. I shivered, arching into his touch despite myself.
“Alexander…” I breathed, half–protest, half–invitation.
“Say it again,” he demanded, his lips moving to my neck, finding that sensitive spot just below my ear
that made me gasp.
“Say what?”
“My name.” His hand slipped between my thighs, making me whimper. “I love how it sounds when you say it.”
“Alexander,” I whispered, giving in to his demand and the pleasure building inside me.
“Mine,” he growled against my skin, his fingers working their magic, bringing me to the edge embarrassingly fast.
Just as I was about to fall over that edge, he suddenly stilled–just for a breath. His jaw tensed. A flicker of something unreadable passed through his eyes.

“What’s wrong?” I asked breathlessly, blinking up at him.
“Nothing,” he commanded, resuming his delicious torture.
The phone stopped, only to start buzzing again seconds later.
With a frustrated growl, Alexander reached for his phone on the nightstand. His Beta’s name flashed on
the screen.
“This better be important,” he barked into the phone, his free hand still tracing lazy circles on my hip.
I watched as his expression hardened, the playful lover replaced by the powerful Alpha in an instant. He sat up, the sheet pooling around his waist.
“I’ll be there in twenty minutes,” he said curtly before hanging up.
“What is it?” I asked, propping myself up on my elbows.
“Emergency pack council meeting,” he replied, running a hand through his tousled hair. “I completely forgot I scheduled it for this morning. The elders are already there.”
I sat up, clutching the sheet to my chest.“You? Forget a council meeting?” I raised a brow, feigning mock surprise. “Aren’t you supposed to be the most responsible Alpha in the pack?”
His lips curved into a slow, wicked smirk as his eyes roamed shamelessly over my bare skin.“I had more pressing matters on my mind.”
I rolled my eyes, trying–and failing–to ignore the heat blooming under his gaze.“Go to your meeting,
Alpha.”
Alexander nodded, finally dragging himself out of bed. I tried and failed not to stare at his perfect naked form as he strode to the bathroom. The man was built like a Greek god, all hard muscles and smooth skin, and the memory of how those muscles had felt under my hands made my mouth go dry.
“See something you like?” he teased, catching me staring.
I threw a pillow at him, which he caught effortlessly. “Hurry up and get in the shower, you.”
Minutes later, he emerged dressed in a tailored suit that made him look every bit the powerful Alpha he
was.
“I’ll see you later,” he said, dropping one last kiss on my lips before heading for the door. “When you see Felix, let Felix know I’m thinking of him, would you? I’ll stop by as soon as I can.”
I nodded, softening.“Of course. I’ll tell him.”
After he left, I lay in bed a moment longer, my body still humming with unfulfilled desire. With a sigh, I finally dragged myself to the shower, letting the cold water calm my heated skin.

Once dressed, I decided to visit Felix before breakfast. As I stepped into the hallway, a young Omega
servant approached me, her eyes downcast.
“Luna Summer,” she said softly. “You have a visitor waiting in the formal sitting room.”
“A visitor? Who would be calling this early?” I frowned.
