Alexander’s POV
I slammed my fist down on the table, causing the maps and documents to jump. “This is unacceptable. How the hell can Silver Creek keep a five–year–old child prisoner without someone noticing?”
My Beta, Ethan, remained calm despite my outburst. “Alpha, we’ve confirmed through our contacts that Felix is definitely within pack territory. The problem is narrowing down the exact location.”
“What do we have so far?” I demanded, studying the satellite imagery of Foster’s sprawling territory.
My Gamma, Jackson, pointed to three locations circled in red. “These are our most likely candidates based on the intelligence we’ve gathered. First, there’s the east wing of the main pack house – heavily guarded, minimal windows, and according to our source, has been recently renovated with new security
systems.”
Jackson continued, “Second possibility is this guest house on the northern edge of the property. It’s isolated but well–patrolled. The guards change shifts every four hours rather than the standard eight, suggesting something valuable inside.”
“And the third?” I asked, my finger tracing the boundary line between our territories.
“The old hunting lodge near Crystal Lake. It’s technically on neutral ground, which would give Foster plausible deniability if confronted by the Council. Our source reports unusual activity there – food deliveries, medical supplies, and at least two guards stationed at all times.”
I nodded, absorbing the information. “The hunting lodge makes strategic sense. It’s far enough from the main compound that Felix’s scent wouldn’t be detected by casual visitors.”
“But?” Ethan prompted, reading my expression.
“But Alpha Foster is an arrogant bastard,” I growled. “He wouldn’t hide his own son away like some shameful secret. No, he’d keep Felix close – as a trophy, a reminder of his victory over Summer.”
“So the east wing is our primary target,” Jackson concluded.
“With contingency plans for the other locations,” I confirmed. “We’ll need three teams, coordinated attacks. If Felix is being moved between locations, we need to know immediately.”
We spent the next hour planning the rescue operation in meticulous detail. Entry points, guard rotations,
extraction routes – nothing was left to chance. Orion growled approvingly as we finalized our strategy.
“I want this executed tomorrow night,” I ordered, rolling up the maps. “Summer’s been without her son for too long, and that boy has suffered enough under Foster’s control.”
Ethan and Jackson nodded in agreement, and I felt a surge of pride in my top lieutenants. Unlike Foster,

who ruled through fear and intimidation, my pack followed me out of loyalty and respect.
“One more thing,” I added as they prepared to leave. “Contact our allies in the Northern Alliance. If this turns ugly, I want backup waiting just across our border.”
“You think Foster will risk war over this?” Jackson asked.
“For his own son? No. But for his pride? Absolutely.”
The meeting dragged on longer than expected. By the time we finally adjourned, it was well past three in the morning–closer to four.
I considered checking in on Summer, eager to share the progress we’d made. The thought of reuniting her with Felix filled me with a fierce sense of purpose. After everything she’d been through, she deserved good news. She deserved hope.
But I stopped myself.
She was probably asleep. Exhausted. I didn’t want to wake her.
So I turned down the hallway and let her rest, telling myself it could wait until morning.
“Summer? I have good news about Felix.“When the door opened, my smile vanished. Instead of Summer’s beautiful face, I found myself staring at my sister Lyra, looking guilty but defiant.
“Where is she?” I demanded, pushing past her into the empty room.“What the FUCK did you do?”
Lyra crossed her arms. “I helped her leave–to find her son. Honestly, Alex, keeping her locked up was a mistake. She’s going to hate you for it, and I don’t want to see you ruin what you two have.”
The rage that surged through me was blinding. Orion clawed beneath my skin, howling for release.
“This was between the two of us! You had no right to interfere!”
“She was dying inside, Alex!” Lyra shot back. “Sitting here, waiting, while you and your men played detective. She’s a mother! Her child is being held captive!”
“She’s walking into a trap!” I roared. “Foster will never let her leave once he has her! Do you have any idea
what you’ve done?”
Lyra’s confidence faltered slightly. “She had a plan. She was going to meet Foster, negotiate-”
I laughed bitterly. “Negotiate? With Foster? The man who stole her son and had her wolf suppressed with black market drugs? The man who let his new mate torture her for years?”
“She said he agreed to meet her, that he wanted to talk-”
“Of course he did! Because he wants HER, Lyra. He’s obsessed with her. This was never about Felix for him – the boy is just bait!”

The color drained from my sister’s face as the reality of the situation finally hit her.
“I’m sorry… I was just trying to help,” Lyra whispered, her voice cracking. “I didn’t think-”
“No, you didn’t,” I snapped. “Now both of them are in danger.”
I turned away, already mentally adjusting our rescue plans to include Summer. When I spoke again, my voice was deadly calm. “When did she leave?”
“Last night,” Lyra admitted. “I gave her my car.”
Last night. She’d be at Silver Creek by now, already in Foster’s clutches. Orion howled in frustration,
clawing to break free and race after her.
I pulled out my phone with shaking hands and called her.Once. Straight to voicemail.
I tried again. And again.
Nothing.
No answer. No message. Just silence.
A cold knot formed in my stomach.
Something was wrong.
Very, very wrong.
“Alex?” Lyra’s voice came from behind me. “What is it?”
I turned to her, jaw tight. “Her phone’s off. It went straight to voicemail.”
Lyra’s brow furrowed. “Maybe her battery died?”
I shook my head. “No. Summer wouldn’t turn it off, not unless she had to. She might be in danger.”
“When I get back,” I said, heading for the door, “we’re going to have a serious conversation about loyalty,
Lyra.”
Then I was moving the timeline up. Alpha Foster wouldn’t expect us–he’d be too busy gloating over Summer’s return. We’d use that arrogance against him.
“Change of plans. We move NOW!“I shouting for Ethan and Jackson.
Foster would pay for this – I’d make certain of it. And if he’d harmed either Summer or Felix, there wouldn’t be enough left of him to bury.
