Chapter 90
Alexander’s POV
I saw Summer entered with Felix at her side. Felix looked pale and tired, but his expression brightened slightly when he saw Lyra.
“Aunt Lyra!” he called, moving carefully toward her.
I withdrew my Alpha pressure immediately, not wanting Felix to feel it. Summer gave me a significant look that clearly said we needed to talk.
“Hello, little warrior,” Lyra said, forcing a smile as she wiped her tears. “How are you feeling today?”
While Lyra and Felix chatted, Summer beckoned me to the corner of the office. “Don’t push her,” she whispered, her eyes earnest. “Trust me on this–forcing her to reveal the father will only make things worse. She’s already scared and feeling alone.”
“Summer, some Alpha took advantage of my sister-”
“You don’t know that,” she countered gently. “And interrogating her won’t help. Let me talk to her, woman to woman. I’ve been where she is… scared, pregnant, unsure of the future.”
I exhaled slowly, allowing her wisdom to temper my protective instincts. “Fine. But I won’t let this unknown Alpha shirk his responsibilities.”
Summer touched my cheek, her fingers soft against my skin. “Give her time. She’ll tell us when she’s
ready.”
After Summer took Lyra and Felix upstairs, I summoned Ethan to my office.
“I need you to discreetly investigate Lyra’s movements over the past couple of months,” I said, my voice low. “Specifically during the last full moon. Find out which Alphas she may have encountered.”
Ethan nodded, his expression carefully neutral. “And when I find him?”
“I want to know who he is before I decide what to do,” I replied, the wolf in me snarling at the thought of anyone hurting my sister. “But make no mistake–he will answer for his actions.”
“Understood, Alpha.” Ethan hesitated before adding, “What about Suzanna and Moore? They’ve been in the cells for over a week now.”
I rubbed my temples, feeling the weight of too many responsibilities. “I’m waiting for Summer to decide what she wants done with them. They hurt her and Felix more than anyone.”
I paused, then looked at him sharply. “Any progress on the hospital leak? Someone on the inside helped Foster’s people get to Felix.”

Ethan’s jaw tightened. “Not yet. The hospital staff have been cooperative, but whoever it was covered their tracks well. We’re still narrowing down the list of suspects.”
“Keep pushing,” I said, my voice cold. “Whoever betrayed us is still a threat.”
After Ethan left, I spent the next few hours reviewing pack business–border reports, financial statements, and requests from pack members. The work was a welcome distraction from my worry about Lyra and Felix.
A soft knock on my door pulled me from my thoughts. Summer entered, closing the door behind her.
“Felix is resting,” she said, coming to perch on the edge of my desk. “Dr. Miller says he did well with the light exercise this morning.”
I reached for her hand, needing the connection. “And Lyra?”
“I talked with her,” Summer replied, threading her fingers through mine. “She’s terrified, Alexander. Not just of motherhood, but of disappointing you.”
“She could never disappoint me,” I insisted.
“I know that, and deep down, so does she. But fear isn’t always rational.” Summer paused. “I told her I’d support whatever decision she makes, and that you would too.”
“Of course,” I agreed. “Did she tell you who the father is?”
Summer shook her head. “She’s not ready. We need to give her time.”
I growled in frustration. “Whoever he is, he should face consequences.”
“Like you said to Felix this morning – strength is also about knowing when to use your power,” Summer reminded me gently. “Sometimes, backing off is the stronger choice.”
Looking at her, bathed in the afternoon sunlight streaming through my office window, I felt that familiar
pull that had only grown stronger since we’d reconnected. I stood, moving around the desk to stand
before her.
“What would I do without you keeping me balanced?” I murmured, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
Summer leaned into my touch. “The same goes for me. I don’t know how I would have survived these past days without you, Alexander,”
I couldn’t resist any longer. I leaned down, capturing her lips with mine, my hands framing her face as though she were the most precious thing in the world – because to me, she was. She responded immediately, her arms winding around my neck, drawing me closer.
The kiss deepened, months of longing and days of fear channeling into something urgent and needful. I lifted her onto my desk, papers scattering to the floor as she wrapped her legs around my waist.

“I’ve missed you,” I breathed against her neck, inhaling her intoxicating scent. “Every minute, every second you’re not in my arms, I feel like I’m going mad.”
“I missed you too,” she whispered, her voice trembling.
“Tell me if you want me to stop,” I murmured against her neck, trailing kisses down to her collarbone.” I’ve wanted you like this for so long.”
“Don’t stop,” she breathed, her fingers tangling in my hair. “Please.”

My hands slid beneath her shirt, tracing the soft skin of her waist before moving higher. She arched into my touch, a soft moan escaping her lips when my thumbs brushed the undersides of her breasts.
“Alex, “Her breath came faster, and her eyes met mine–dark with need, silently asking for more.
My hands found the hem of her shirt, and she raised her arms, allowing me to pull it over her head. The sight of her in a simple black bra nearly undid me.
“You’re perfect,” I breathed, cupping her breasts through the thin fabric. Her head fell back, offering me her throat. I accepted the invitation, pressing open–mouthed kisses to the sensitive skin, careful not to
mark her until she was truly mine.
Her fingers dug into my shoulders as I unclasped her bra, revealing her fully to my hungry gaze. “Alex,” she moaned as my mouth moved lower, teasing the peaks that had hardened under my attention.
I could smell her arousal, driving my wolf wild with need. My hands slid to the waistband of her jeans,
seeking permission with my eyes before unbuttoning them.
“Yes,” she whispered, understanding my silent question. “Please, touch me.”
As my fingers slipped beneath the denim, finding the heat at her core through thin cotton underwear, Summer trembled against me.
“God, I’ve missed this,” she gasped, her hips rocking against my hand. “Missed you.”
“I’ve been going crazy wanting you,” I admitted, my voice rough with desire as I stroked her through the
fabric, feeling how wet she was already. “Every night, dreaming of having you like this.”
Summer’s hands moved to my belt, her intentions clear. “I need you, Alexander. All of you.”
I was about to help her undo my belt when a sharp knock at the door froze us both.
“Alpha Alexander?” called a timid voice–one of the Omega house staff. “Lunch is ready, and Dr. Miller has arrived to check on Felix.”
“Thank you,” I called, my voice rougher than normal. “We’ll be right there.”
“Yes, Alpha,” came the reply, followed by retreating footsteps.

I turned back to Summer, who was now blushing beautifully. I couldn’t help but smile, reaching out to smooth her tousled hair.
“This isn’t over,” I cupped Summer’s face in my hands, pressing one more lingering kiss to her lips before helping her off the desk.
