Chapter 1
After my father’s illegitimate daughter stole my first love, I dated three
more guys.
The first one was an international race car driver. I fell for him at first sight and even followed him to Paris for a race.
But after we were together, I discovered that he was engaged to a stunning woman from a rich family.
Then there was the second guy–a mafia leader. He rescued me after the film crew left me stranded on a deserted island.
Yet when his enemies showed up, ready for a fight, he immediately pushed me ahead, taking the bullet meant for the woman he loved.
Later on,
I shared the news that I’d registered my marriage with the third guy. To my surprise, my first love and my two exes all came back to me.

“With you in my life, I know the rest of my days will be nothing but joyful.”
In my third year in showbiz, I officially announced my pregnancy on
Twitter.
The picture I attached was from my latest prenatal check–up.
Close friends flooded the comments with congratulations, and the hashtag “A–List Actress Madeline Hachett Pregnant Before Marriage” shot up to the top of trending topics.

Chapter 1
As I was debating whether to post my marriage license, the comments under award–winning actor Jackson Danford’s post went completely wild.
A bunch of shippers were losing it in the comments, saying Jackson shouldn’t have let me go, and kept tagging him to come win me back.
Instead of replying to the fans, Jackson tagged me. “Don’t play this kind of joke.”
His ridiculous response really got on my nerves.
He probably forgot that we broke up two years ago.
Jackson was my first love. At eighteen, I was head over heels for him, but he mercilessly dumped me.
I just couldn’t accept it. So I made a scene, thinking maybe I’d win him back, but not only did he refuse to stay, but I ended up becoming the punchline of jokes in the industry.
Thinking about it now, I still felt sad. But thankfully, it was all in the
past.
I replied to each kind message from my friends, but I completely ignored his tag.
As I walked into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, my phone rang
again.
I looked at the screen. It was Matthew Machan, my second boyfriend.
After hesitating for a few seconds, I finally hit the green call button.
“Maddie, why didn’t you wait for me?” Matthew asked.
A sharp wave of bitterness shot through me. “What makes you think everyone will just wait around for you?”

There was a long silence on his end.
I hung up the phone, flopped down on the couch, and stared at the ceiling.
I had a special thing for Matthew.

He was three years younger than me–passionate, wild, and free–spirited.
But on the night Jackson broke up with me and humiliated me, Matthew was there to comfort me and lift me up.
So when he told me how he felt about me and asked me to be his girlfriend, I just said yes without even thinking about it.
On the day we broke up, he was unusually calm.
I hoped he would comfort me or give me a promise.
But he simply said nonchalantly, “The engagement will end anyway. Why make such a big deal?”
He acted like I was being unreasonable and couldn’t see things from his perspective.
I never got a single explanation from him, not even after we came back from abroad.
That experience left me mired in self–doubt for a long time.
I kept asking myself why I was never anyone’s favorite and why everyone had abandoned me.
But thankfully, I had found someone who’d choose me without a second thought.
Lying on the bed, I gently rubbed my slightly rounded belly with a happy

Suddenly, my phone blew up with WhatsApp messages–buzzing nonstop until my hand nearly went numb.
They were from Richard Pegler. And one of them read: “When did I ever say it was okay for you to have a kid with another guy?”
Just thinking about his cold, serious face sent chills down my spine.
Richard was my third boyfriend. He had this quiet personality and was a lone wolf.
No one in New York dared to talk about him, let alone mess with him.
While the first two breakups left me feeling down, the one with him felt like it nearly cost me my life.
I could still remember how he pushed me to take a bullet for the woman he truly loved, and I ground my teeth in rage.
Luckily, I managed to get away from the island.
As I was trying to figure out how to respond to that message, Nicholas Talbott, in a crisp suit, came home, holding a watermelon with a warm smile.
A sudden sense of security washed over me.
I decided to leave the past behind. So I shut down WhatsApp, got up, and threw myself in his arms.
