By the time Max’s father reached the end of the video, he was clenching his fists in anger and glaring venomously at Mia.
“My son… My poor, poor son…” he cried. “I can’t believe you killed him.”
He continued, “He was only seven. Why would you do such a thing? I don’t even want the compensation anymore. I just want you dead!”
Max’s father was outraged.
David stepped in front of Mia to protect her. He’d previously claimed that he wouldn’t press charges if the Campbells killed me, but he was now trying to stop Max’s father from doing anything rash by using his power as a police officer.
“Don’t do anything stupid, or I’ll be forced to arrest you all,” he warned.
Before he could say anything else, he was hit by a baseball bat. A couple of his teeth were even knocked out of his mouth.
“What a great swing,” I thought to myself.
David fell to the floor and began to twitch from the pain. Upon seeing this, Nick didn’t have the guts to stand up for Mia anymore.
He was just about to claim that he had nothing to do with this when he was pinned to the ground. Then, the men began kicking him.
After taking a few kicks to the face, Nick’s glasses shattered, and the broken shards pierced his eyes. Subsequently, his eyes started bleeding profusely.
Mia, on the other hand, ran for her life. However, before she could get far, someone kicked her from behind, and she fell to the
ground.
The muscular men surrounded her and began beating her up simultaneously.
Mia essentially became a human punching bag. Her hair was ripped out of her scalp, and her teeth were knocked out. She was covered in injuries from head to toe.
Afterward, Max’s family was taken away by the police. Mia, Nick, and David were transported to a hospital in an ambulance.
The trio stayed in the ICU for more than a month. However, in contrast to how I died in my last life, their injuries weren’t that
serious.
By the time emergency surgery was conducted on them, Nick had lost an eye, and David had become half–paralyzed.
Still, it wasn’t over yet. The worst had yet to come.
The three were arrested by the police as soon as they were discharged from the hospital.
Since there was loads of incriminating evidence, the special investigation unit finished their investigation in no time at all.

Chapter 15
Mia was found guilty of premeditated murder.

Due to the severity of the case and her complete lack of remorse for her actions, there was a very high chance that she was going to face the death penalty.
David and Nick were punished for harboring a criminal and knowingly breaking the law. They were also found guilty of abusing their authority and falsifying evidence.
They violated a huge number of rules and regulations. As a result, they ended up getting fired from their respective jobs. On top of that, they also faced severe disciplinary actions.
David and Nick lost everything, becoming disabled in the process. Despite their unfortunate circumstances, they still needed to
serve time in prison.
I ended up visiting them once.
“Do you regret what you did?” I asked.
Mia didn’t reply.
David kept his head low, but he was furiously sobbing.
“I’m sorry, Nat. This is all my fault,” he cried.
Nick’s hair was blocking his blind eye. He no longer looked like the person he once was.
“If I could turn back time, I would never choose to do what I did. I’m sorry, Nat.”
After the three were placed in handcuffs, I let out a huge sigh.
As a nurse, Mia was supposed to take care of her patients and help them recover from their illnesses. Instead of doing that, she
ended up dying because she committed murder.
David, a policeman who had a bright future ahead of him, was now despised by the public.
Nick, who was once a highly respected forensic pathologist, had become blind in one eye.
In my opinion, they got what was coming to them. After all, you reaped what you sowed.
